Pri·ma·vera (Italian: Spring). Photographed inside the Palazzo Altemps, a renaissance palace in the heart of Rome. This ornate balcony features frescoes of birds, angels, and greenery – symbolic of Spring, hope, and rebirth. This trompe-d’oeil fresco depicts a highly realistic optical illusion of three-dimensional space and objects on a two-dimensional surface. A painting technique that convinces the viewer into perceiving painted objects or spaces as real.
