La Bam·bina (Italian: The little girl). A whimsical glimpse inside an abandoned villa in Parma, Italy. Nothing is known about the artist or location – I simply stumbled upon the abandoned site during a stop over in Parma, en route to Milan. Along with most people, I find the history of abandoned places fascinating, but what’s even more striking about these places is the persistence of its beauty. To see a fresco from 300 years ago still existing despite neglect and time shows us what art is capable of… purely magical.
