A study in neo-classical sculptures, “Il Giorno” (Italian for “Day“) exemplifies strength, family, and freedom – a unique perspective contrasting light & dark and heaven & earth. The sculpture is made of stone and was created by Hendrik Christian Andersen (15 April 1872 in Bergen– 19 December 1940 in Rome). Much of his work was done in contemplation of the single idea of designing a perfect “world city” filled with art.
